I was born and raised in Rocky Ford, Colorado, a very small farming community in the southeast part of the state. I graduated Salutatorian of my high school class and went on to attend Colorado State University, earning a degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Statistics and Computer Science. A great deal of who I am today comes from my father and grandfather. At a very young age, I began working in my father’s Pharmacy and watched my father help people feel better. My grandfather taught me a strong work ethic and to always do what is right for the client. I have incorporated these very principles into my practice. I will be forever grateful for these men in my life.
In 1984, I moved to Anchorage, Alaska where my three children, Chad, Cody and Carissa were born. Chad graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Spanish and lives in Austin, TX with his wife. Cody graduated from Colorado University-Denver with a Masters of Architectural Design and lives in Denver. Carissa also lives in Denver with her family: Joshua (husband), Tiffany, Cherie and Malek. She joined our team in September of 2022 as our Client Specialist and has been a great asset. In late 2022, I began spending most of my time in Colorado helping to train Carissa, but make frequent trips back to Alaska, as needed.
Since 1997, I have had the privilege of helping people achieve their financial goals. As a founding member of the Rixse Todd Group at Baird, I enjoy harnessing the collective talents of our team and the vast resources of our firm to help make the greatest possible impact on our client’s lives. At the Rixse Todd Group, we see our clients as family, and working together with them to achieve their financial goals is a gift that I cherish every day.
I have focused my practice on retirement planning and divorce finances. I have earned the Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM (CRPS®) and the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) certifications. I use my knowledge of tax law, asset distribution and short- and long-term financial planning to achieve the client’s retirement goals. As a CDFA®, I can provide in-depth financial analysis and advice to the attorney and divorcees relating to their divorce. I strive to achieve an equitable divorce settlement with both agreeing on the division of assets and that they divorce as amicably as possible.
Outside of work, I also enjoy hiking, biking and camping in the summer and crocheting in the winter. I have designed and created numerous unique Afghans, ranging in size from newborn baby blankets to king-sized beds. Most of my free time, however, is spent with my dog, Kaladi and treasuring every minute of doting on my grandchildren!
